My name is Molly Geisler-Juarez LM, CPM, IBCLC, MAS and I am here to support you through your postpartum journey.
I love how the authenticity and preciousness of newborn babies often brings out the best version of ourselves. And the quiet observer in me loves to witness the many different ways to move through the same human process of healing from birth while bonding with our new baby (or babies).
On countless occasions I have seen the profound benefits of postpartum care when the model is reminiscent of older village traditions. Providing birthing families with individualized in-home care from a consistent provider aligns so well with the physiological needs of the postpartum body and mind as well as newborn health. So my offerings blend modern professionalism with community based care to promote health and happiness during the fourth trimester. I believe this type of care should be available to all birthing people with no exceptions.
I am a Licensed Midwife, a Certified Professional Midwife, a Lactation Consultant, and I have a Master’s degree in Maternal and Child Nutrition. I currently work part time at Highland Hospital as a Lactation Consultant. I have also worked as a birth and postpartum doula, perinatal chef, nutrition instructor, placenta medicine maker, and more through my previous practice, Down to Earth Birth. I utilize many holistic therapies such as nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, supplements, mental and spiritual practices, intentional movement, and other modalities in care of my clients. Asking for consent before carrying out assessments and explaining the reasons behind any recommendation make up the fabric of my care.
For the past ten years I have provided support in homes, birth centers, community clinics, virtual platforms, and hospitals. I have had the honor of working with all types of people on the East Coast, West Coast, within Amish Communities, refugee camp clinics, and more. I consider myself a lifelong learner and view cultural humility as a necessity.
I have a lot of joy in my life! When not visiting clients I may be galavanting around the Bay Area with my family, hiking with my dog, kayaking on the Russian River, watching stand up comedy, and enjoying good food. With gratitude I acknowledge the original stewards of these beautiful lands—the Ohlone, Miwok, Yokut, Pomo peoples among others. I view it as my responsibility while living on unceded land to make my work one that promotes wellness in the community and does so with minimal ecological impact. At home I make herbal brews, read romantasy books, and sew. Not only does wisdom from the moon and lunar cycles inspire my practice but I feel it as a non-judgmental and mysterious presence in many aspects of my own life and rituals.
