Darling,
the Moon
is still the Moon
in all of its phases.

Postpartum Midwifery
In-home postpartum midwifery care allows you and your baby to rest in the haven of your home while receiving much deserved attention during this huge transition. Having a calm, consistent, knowledgeable, and caring provider allows you to navigate the ups and downs of the postpartum time with more confidence and stability. I am also there to remind you that yes, you are enough and you are doing an amazing job!!!
Prenatally we will meet to get to know each other a little better and discuss some of the important pillars of wellness in the postpartum time such as rest and nutrition. We will also talk about some big changes that occur after baby comes. This will give you time to plan for the postpartum journey that you hope for. Feel free to ask me questions as you look ahead.
Postpartum home visits are a space where you really feel cared for and seen. They are usually between 60-120 minutes. Visits entail a combination of talking, assessments, hands on support, recommendations, sharing of resources. I affirm that you are the expert of your body and your baby and your situation. But I will always be scanning for normalcy and ruling out issues such as pre-eclampsia, retained placental tissues, concerning postpartum moods, infection, low infant weight gain, and more. If any concerns arise we will make a plan together or I will refer you to your pediatrician, your primary medical provider, or another appropriate provider if needed. More often, though, care includes a dialogue about incorporating nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, supplements, mental and spiritual practices, rallying support systems, intentional movement, or other modalities to support health. Asking for consent before carrying out assessments and explaining the reasons behind any recommendation make up the fabric of my care.
Postpartum care options may be offered in packages of 1 prenatal visit & 5 postpartum visits, 1 prenatal visit & 3 postpartum visits, or single postpartum visits. Please refer to the Rates and Insurance page for more details.
